Sustainable Aviation Fuel

Doubling Global Production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)

A new source of aviation fuel, doubling the global supply of SAF, is to be profitably produced outside the Gulf, from algae, CO₂, and sunlight. We have $16 billion in offtake contracts already from 5 oil & gas majors, including Shell, Chevron, and BP. Two of the world’s biggest energy construction companies, KEPCO and Samsung, are to build 24 plants for us in Texas and Australia.

The world needs hundreds of millions of tons of sustainable aviation fuel to meet demand. Yet it only produces under 2 million tons at present. This is a shortfall of 98%.

INNOVO is setting up 24 very large bio-farms in the USA and Australia. Together, at full capacity, they will produce crude algal oil sufficient to yield 2.5 million tons of sustainable aviation fuel feedstock. This is more than double the current global production of sustainable aviation fuel.

A bio-farm has thousands of tanks filled with algae in seawater. CO2 in industrial smoke emissions is bubbled through the tanks as well as air with its CO2. The algae grow rapidly in sunlight with photosynthesis. The algal biomass is harvested and profitably refined into crude algal oil, which is used to make sustainable aviation fuel.
