The Net Zero Data Center Alliance is a groundbreaking collaboration to develop and deploy zero-emission data centers with integrated bio-farm technology and sustainable construction solutions.
The alliance brings together:
- INNOVO - Profitable Net Zero
- ESS (Energy Storage Solutions LLC)
- ARCO Design/Build (ARCO)
- Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corporation
In a unified effort to revolutionize data center sustainability.
The alliance addresses the escalating environmental impact of data centers while meeting the growing demand for computing power, particularly for AI and machine learning workloads. Its innovative approach leverages gas power combined with bio-farms and zero-emission solutions, creating an immediately available solution that can be deployed now, unlike nuclear alternatives that may take 20-30 years to implement.
"The data center industry is at a critical inflection point where sustainability can no longer be separated from operational excellence," said Martin Kelly, Chair and Founder of INNOVO - Profitable Net Zero. "Our alliance represents a fundamental shift in how data infrastructure can be both environmentally responsible and commercially competitive, offering a solution that’s available now rather than decades in the future."
The alliance integrates each partner's unique expertise to create a complete solution:
- INNOVO - Profitable Net Zero provides proprietary bio-farm technology that converts CO2 emissions from power generation to valuable products, creating a genuinely profitable approach to sustainability
- ESS contributes specialized power infrastructure with multi-generator redundancy and battery storage integration
- ARCO Design/Build contributes end-to-end design-build expertise that transforms innovative concepts into fully operational facilities, delivering projects significantly faster through its integrated single-source approach while ensuring data management systems optimized for power infrastructure
- Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corporation offers investment support, financial strategy, and community integration
"By combining bio-farm technology with advanced data center architecture and optimized construction implementation, we're creating sustainable computing environments that generate value beyond just processing power," explained Dan Shaffer, President at ESS. "This alliance demonstrates that environmental responsibility and operational excellence can work together synergistically."
“As the design-build partner, ARCO brings over 30 years of construction expertise to ensure these innovative technologies are integrated efficiently and effectively, delivering facilities substantially faster than traditional approaches,” said Will Jensen, Vice President of Mission Critical at ARCO Design/Build. “Our single-source accountability model eliminates the coordination challenges inherent in traditional construction, providing one partner responsible for the entire project lifecycle from concept to commissioning.”
The alliance’s initial projects will include the development of pilot facilities in strategic locations, with full-scale deployment targeted for late 2025. These facilities are projected to reduce carbon emissions by over 90% compared to traditional data centers while maintaining competitive operational costs.
